NOTES: "While in America, he married and also patented much land -
a large part of the land went to the commonwealth because during
the Revolutionary War, his descendants were alien enemies."
Col. Robert of the Militia and in 1676 was elexted to the House
Of Burgesses presumably in each case from the County of Gloucester.
Returned to England in 1680 and became a merchant in London-
amassed great wealth. (Note: imprisoned By Bacon, until Bacon died

A neighbor of John Bristow - of Virginia after Robert returned
to London - he became a Director of the Bank of England, also
elected to Parliament for Winchelsea.
Codicil 3 April 1707.
Alive when he wrote this (Parish of Gabriel). He later returned to
England leaving no descendants in the colony in 1660.

NOTES: 1. His WILL dated 20 February 1716 - Probated 6 November 1717.
He left a substantial estate in land and slaves. He had a re-
putation of service to his community and his church. He had
served as juror, appraiser, militia man, clerk of the Vistry,
for many years a lay reader at the Upper Chapel of convenience
of Chriest Church.
