NOTES: 1. Will date 12 March 1804 - left in Clark County, Kentucky.
         2. In Bourbon County, KY. 1789. Bought 100 acres in Virginia 1791.
           Served as Private in Revolutionary War under Captain Samuel Ashe in
           the 1st. North Carolina Light Dragoons.
         3. None of this has been proved- says Julia J. Bristow.
         4. Second wife, Sarah? step-mother of children below. They were named
           as her representatives. This seems to indicate she was a step-mother
           of these men in 1807. She took slaves in lieu of land (a document).
         5. Child: John lived near Lexington, no children by either marriage.
         6. Child: Gideon lived mainly in Shelby Co, KY.
         7. Child: James lived in Southern KY.
         8. Child: Archibald, hardshell Baptist minister.
         9. Sarah Newman, possibly her name was Sarah Margaret, may have been
           the widow Peasley who was Margaret Clapton.
