Native of Southington, removed to Greenwich, Connecticut home for about 10 years - later moved to East Berlin. 2. Patriotic Quality of this Family. When Civil War began their oldest and only living son, enlisted among the first quota of soldiers from Berlin. Served throughout the war- excaped imprisonment - because he was in the hospital when his regiment-captured. 3. Emily (Savage) Royce - It was written about her - Of lovely character, active in lobors for Family and Friends, Sympathy for the sick and those in trouble, always willing to help. A model homemaker - warm hearted & hospitable. In later years while suffering - she was forgetful of self thoughtful for those about her. (A Real Sweet Heart).
