Obituary of Barbara Heiserman Ricketts OBITUARY Mrs. Barbara Heiserman, nee Ricketts, daughter of Jacob and Sevilia Heiserman, was born on April 7, 1851, in Seneca county, Ohio, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lola Parker, on June 8, 1938, at the age of 87 years, two months and one day. She was the last of her immediate family, her two sisters, Mary and Julia, and her three brothers, Jacob, William and John, preceding her in death. Her mother passed away when she was about six years old and her father died in 1904. On December 2, 1875 she was married to Samuel Ricketts in Seneca county and came to Williams county which has since been her home. There were born to this union six children: Lola, Nettie, Sylvia, Ida, Elsie and Lee. Her daughter, Mrs. Elsie Hake, preceded her in death in July, 1924. After the death of her husband on April 4, 1929, she lived with her children, but for several years has made her home with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Parker. On February 28, 1897 she united with the West Eagle Creek Presbyterian church, to which she was a faithful member. She was a member of the Ladies' Aid Society and took an active part in its work and social life. She leaves to mourn their loss five children: Mrs. Lola Parker, Mrs. Nettie Flickinger, Mrs. Sylvia Bevier, Mrs. Ida Haines and Lee Ricketts, all of Northwest township except Mrs. Bevier who lives in Montpelier, Ohio. There are 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren besides other relatives, friends and neighbors who loved her dearly. SOURCES: 3. OBITUARY Samuel Ricketts was born in Seneca Co., Ohio Aug 18, 1847 and passsed away April 4, 1929 at the ripe old age of 8l years, 7 months, 16 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Barbara Heiserman on December 2, 1875. To this happy union six children were born: Mrs. Lola Parker, Mrs. Sylvia Peck, Mrs. Ida Haines, Mrs. Elsie Hake and Mr. Lee Ricketts. The mother and all the children survive to mourn their loss, except Mrs. Elsie Hake who preceded him to the great beyond. There are also 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mr. Ricketts was one of Northwest township's most honest and respected citizens and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He married Mary Elizabeth Kime 5 Nov 1846 at Seneca, Ohio . Mary Elizabeth Kime was born at Jefferson, West Virginia 28 Oct 1824 daughter of Samuel Kime and Caty E. Custar .
