    Person submitting this sheet: Mazie C. Ray 501 W. Alabama Anadarko, OK Ira Boone was irish, and a most lovable person. He knew the hardships of the early pioneers. He lived in Oklahoma, but moved to New Mexico. After three years of drought on the open range, he and his family again trailed their herd, or what was left of it, back to Lipscomb County, Texas where they purchased land. He lived on the ranch 13 miles N.W. of Higgins for many years. He was a friend to everyone. He lived in Higgins, Texas the last few years of his life.

    A few nights before he passed away he asked his daughter-in-law, Mrs.
    Ray Boone, to sing "Oh How I Love Jesus". He lifted his hand upward while she
    sang it. He died of cancer of the stomach. He was a member of the Methodist
    Church.

    Anna Ford Boone was of French and Dutch descent. She wasn't afraid to
    rope a wild cow and milk her, for I've heard her tell about doing it, when her
    husband was away from home. She enjoyed life, and anyone was welcome in their
    home. She was willing to share her food with others. When people cam by at
    dinner time, she'd invite them to eat whatever they had, making no apologies.
    She died of cancer of the stomach. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
