                       The first white male born in Litchfield.
    Gersham Gibbs, his brother Benjamin, his sons Isaac and Moore, were enlisted in a company of volunteers organized in Litchfield, CT. Gershom Gibbs was a soldier in the Revolution, was taken prisoner and died of starvation and disease on the British prison ship "Grosvenor" in New York Harbor, 29 Dec 1776.  His son, Isaac, died aboard the same ship two weeks later.
