NOTE: Revolutionary War Soldier.
PC Mary Lewis, 1762 from researches of cousin Eldred Johnson and O.C. Day records: she was age 57 in 1819 (her husband's application for a soldier's pension). She was thought to have been born in Albany County, New York, by a Whiting cousin from Springville, Utah (name unknown). Probably married 1786. Probably died 1835 in Clay County, Missouri, probably in the Hulet Settlement. Baptized LDS Oct 1830 (St George Temple records). Indian Blood: Running Deer was the grandmother of Mary Lewis, but it is not know whether she was on Mary's mother's or father's side. Running Deer (Josnorum Scoenonti) was born about 1682 in the Mohawk River Valley, Northern New York State, probably. She was said to have died probably in Norther New York State. PLEASE REFER TO HISTORICAL RECORDS ON FILE FOR Orville Cox Day's account of his spiritual experience regarding the temple work on Running Deer. Apparently Running Deer was married to David Lewis of Albany County, New York (1720 census). He was married about 1700 at age 18.
