Jonathan PICKERING

                   The Annals of Mendon, p. 446 - states that Jotham lived in Mendon in the 6th district in 1791.  The 6th district, "Beginning at Hop Brook Bridge, thence to Anthony Chase including him, thence to Cumberland Line, thence to Bellingham Line, thence to Jotham Pickering's including him, thence to Ichabod Pickering's including him, thence to Seth Kelly's including him, thence to the first mentioned bound."

Jotham Pickering was a Revolutionary War soldier (A091041), came to Pennsylvania in 1795 while the area was still Luzerne County, first settling in the New Milford area, and later joining his friend, Captain Joseph Potter, in the Gibson area of the state, where he died. (FindAGrave)

In the Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailor in the Rev. War: "Jotham Pickering, Mendon, MA, Age 17 yrs. stature, 6 ft.; comp. dark; eyes brown; hair, dark brown; residence, Mendon, MA; engaged for the Town of Mendon, arrived at Fishkill, June 7, 1778; discharged, 6 Oct 1780."
