The founder is John Seip, descendant from Melchoir Seip, immigrant ancestor. 2. Johan Peter Seip built the tavern (Seipsville Hotel) that still stands today in Seipsville. 3. There are at least two other known stone homes in the immediate vicinity built by Seips- Jacob and Lewis as indicated by their names under the eaves. One (built by Lewis) is the 1818 Tavern across from Palmer Dairy Bar and diaganolly across from the original Seipsville Hotel. The other (built by Jacob) is a private residence further down Seip Ave.
