Spent most of my boyhood days in and around Provo. In 1986 (sic-1886) I
met a young lady by the name of Esther Marriott of Sandy, Utah. It was
at a 'Bow and Apron' dance. The other fellow got her bow; this fellow
would not make us acquainted so I asked one of her girl friends to
introduce me. She would if I promised not to take her home. This fellow
wanted to bet me a dollar I could not take her home. Well, I took her
home, and he lost his girl but I lost my hat. In Provo Jan 5th 1887 we
were married at our mothers home.
