Notes:

                       Bertha (phone call Nyla Chriswell 18 Sep 1990 - reading from her
    history): 'married at 16, a mother at 17, lived in Wendall, Charles Rose
    drank, divorced him when Sammy age 5, may have lived in Idaho Falls for
    a while, in Reno 1938-1958 certain.
    Bertha's history of the Briggs family was loaned to the Chriswell's by a
    niece,  Ruth (Holmes?? living in Buhl) who was the daughter of Sam and
    Stella (Ray) Briggs.  Bertha had apparently left it with that niece to type.
    Nyla C's daughter, Maureen, typed a copy from which my copy was made
    (3rd hand).
    Nyla's daughter, Maureen, submitted the family group sheet (441 S 10th,
    Othello, Wn 99344).

    Home: Richard was 'informant'/source of data; Samuel, Jay, Charles
    mentioned plus two g'children Nancy and Sam  (all Rose).

    I found Richard Rose at 22 Grove St - living alone, age 72 - shared
    memories willingly but had little 'hard copy' (see transcript of notes
    filed in working binder under Briggs #18).

    Bertha and Charles Rose divorced in 1933 in Bounder City and she
    married Ivan Jensen about 1933-36; he died in 1942 in Reno.

    The names, numbers, and sequence of children are problematical - some
    were confirmed from the obituary while others were entered based on
    mention by the funeral home and by Richard Rose (the two girls,
    particularly).  That there were several children is substantiated by a
    remark made by Nyla Chriswell that attributes Bertha with giving one of
    the reasons for her divorcing Charles Rose was the number of children
    that she had while still of 'tender' age.
