Lucius removed from Middlebury, CT, to Mantua, OH, and then to Kirtland, OH where he and wife Lucy were baptized into the Mormon Church. About 1840 he removed to Nauvoo, IL and then to Salt Lake City. In 1843 he was a member of the Masonic order in Illinois and in 1859 a notary public in Utah. He was postmaster at Provo, 1860-61, and a broom maker by trade.
He married Lydia Manville 27 Feb 1805 at Waterbury, New Haven, Connecticut . Lydia Manville was born at Waterbury, New Haven, Connecticut 24 Mar 1780 daughter of John Manville and Elisabeth Weed .
