    BIOGRAPHY: A schoolman and educator by profession. He graduated from the
    Cortland New  York State Normal School in 1906, New York University (A.B.) in
    1901; he  received the degrees of Master of Arts in 1905 and Doctor of
    Phillosophy  in 1916 fram the sam institution; he was principle of Mt. Kisco,
    New York  High School in 1901-4, head of the English department of Superior, 
    Wisconson Normal School 1905-11; head of the English department of Albion 
    College from 1913 untill his dealth; he was a lecturer and entertainer at  the
    YMCA huts in France during WW I; trustee of the Wesleyan Foundation at 
    Albion, member of Modern Language Association of America, of the Michigan 
    State Teachers Association, of Phi Beta Kappa, Delta Sigma Rho, Phi Gamma 
    Delta, the Authors Club; he was a Republican, a Methodist, auther of "A  Guide
    to Novel Reading," "An Analysis of English Prose Style" and other  works.
    Resided at 624 East Central Street.

    1917-20. She is a teacher of English in the High School at that place.
