John David has 17 identified children. Information can be found in
the Reddell, Riddell, Riddle Trail (copies located in the Pulaski Library.

John was born in Maryland about 1768. He moved to North Carolina where he may
have lived in either Stokes or Rowan County. Before 1818 he moved westward
and settled in Union County, Illinois. in that area he was granted 160 acres
of land by the federal government. This land was located in the southwest
quarter of section ten, township five, range south. He is listed as road
overseer for his district there in 1818-1820. He sold this land in 1828 to
    Shadrick Rackley.

April 3, 1820 he sold land in Giles County, Tennessee, to Issac Morris that he
bought on July 20, 1818. On November 20, 1823, he served on a jury in this
county. He was appointead a constable for the same county in February of 1824.
By a deed dated Feb. 9, 1824 and recorded on July 21st that same year, he
bought 182 acres of land from Alexander and John McDonald, Richland Creek of
Giles County. In Book H, page 265 (Giles County, Tennessee) it is recorded
that john D. Reddell sold a tract of land to Phillips Ball on Feb. 1, 1827, of
$500.00. Then on Beb. 15, 1830, he sold land (apparently that which he bought
from the McDonald's) to Alexander McDonald. For this tract, he received
    $1,200.00.
Mary was his last wife - the first wives are not known.

Name is spelled several different ways but it is the decision of researchers
that the correct spelling is listed. Vinson Robeson is listed in some places
but Vincent Robertson is the spelling used in war records, deed records and a
family bible from Arkansas. The research was probably done by Nettie Lee
