The name "Albright" also appears in some public records as "Albrecht"which is believed to be close to the original spelling of the familyname. The ancestor of the owners of Albright's mill and the old Albrightfarm near Trexlertown was Joseph Albrecht (or Albright). Somedescendants claim that he was born in Nurnberg, however, this has notbeen proved. Joseph and Maria Catharina Albrecht appeared as sponsors totwo baptisms recorded at Jordan Lutheran Church in Whitehall Twp in 1742and 1743. Joseph is also listed as one of the founders of Lehigh (orZion) Church in Macungie Township.
