Braswell Branches Vol VIII, issue 4, Fall 1999 pg 3On 22 Feb 1627 at the age of sixteen he entered Oxford University, London,England, and graduated with a B.A. degree on tthe 3 Nov 1631. He became a Anglican (Episcopal) Clergyman. He was forced to flee and came to America about 1635. His pastorate in 1652 was known as Lawne's Creek Parish today it is known as the Old Brick Church. 1653 He was elected to the House of Burgesses of Virgina but was later forced to leave because of separation of church and State. His will was made 15 Feb 1667 and is recorded in Will Book 1, pg 9, of the Isle of Wright records of Virginia/
He married Lettice Hartley Abt 1592 at England . Lettice Hartley was christened at Branoldswick, Yorkshire, England 25 Sep 1598 daughter of Henrie Hartley and Elizabeth Hartley .
