1765 on deed records Halifax, Virginia 1772 in Old Craven District, South Carolina 1793 in Greenville District, South Carolina Michael bought 50 acres on Terrible Creek, Halifax, Va. from his brother, William Pruitt, on June 20, 1765. He sold this land to his brother, Thomas Pruitt, Jr., on 18 Feb 1767. Michael was granted 300 acres on a branch of the tyger River in Old Craven Dist., South Carolina on 15 May 1772. This was delivered to Tobias Bryght on 17 November 1772. Michael does not show up again on the records until 1793, when he witnessed a deed of Bright Pruitt in Greenville, District, South Carolina. I is only speculative why Michael dropped from the records from 1772-1793? He lived in an isolated part of the mountains between North Carolina and South Carolina. The Braswells were living within a mile of the North Carolina border in Greenville District. Joh Braswell and the rest of the clan were all located by the census taker, and if their land adjoined that of Michael, why would they miss him. It is possible Michael was living with his only son, Bright and was thus recorded in the 1790 Census of Greenville, South Carolina. After Bright moved to Kentucky, Michael then patented land in his own name in 1799. Michael married second: Rachel Dawson Erickson after 1804, and before 1810. Rachel was a daughter of Jonas Dawson and ha two children: Prudence Erickson and John Erickson. In 1813, Michael deeded everything to the Erickson
