Will of David Whitlock
In the name of God Amen. I David Whitlock of the County of Hanover and Parish of St. Paul being of sound mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. To witt:
It is my will and desire that all my just and funeral debts be paid and for that purpose I desire that my executors may sell a tract of land that I have in the State of Kentucky, which I purchased of my son, Samuel Whitlock and adopt such other methods for the payment of the same as they shall think best.
ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my sons Chaarles Whitlock, Turner Richardson Whitlock and David Paarish Whitlock all the land that I am entitled to in the County of Randolph (State of Virginia) to be equally divided between them, to them and theirs forever.
ITEM: I lend unto mywife Maartha Whitlock the tract of land whereon I now live during her widowhood and at her death or marriage it is my will and desire that the said tract of land by equally divided bwetween my two daughters, Rebakah Doran Whitlock and Luch Ann Whitlock to them and their heirs forever, but in case either of my said daughters should die under age or unmarried, it is my will that the surviving one have the hole of the said land. I likewise lend unto my wife Martha Whitlock during her natural life all the rest of my estate of every kind and quality whatsoever and at her death to be divided between my following children as she shall direct; Charles Whitlock, Turner Richardson Whitlock, David Parish Whitlock, Rebekah Doran Whitlock and Lucy Ann Whitlock to them and their heirs forever. And lastly I nominate and appoint my wife Martha Whitlock and John Allen Richaardson executrix and exedcutor of this my last will and testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixt my seal the 28th day of March one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight.

At a court of monthly session held for Hanover at the Court House on Wednesday the 19 of September 1793. This lasty will and testament of David whitlock dec'd was proved by the oaths of David Gentry and John Lyle,witnesses thereto and is ordered to be recorded. William Pollaard. C. H. C
