    270) Forrester is listed as living in Elbert County, Georgia in 1796. His
    Father, Leroy Upshaw, was living in Elbert County in 1791. The family evidently
    moved from Virginia to Georgia about 1790.

    Louisiana History published in 1988. Family information is contained in the
    account of his son Thomas Allen Upshaw. The family moved from Georgia to
    Noxubee County, Missippi in about 1840  and then to Bienville Parish, Louisiana
    (1847 - 1867). John Upshaw died in Bienville Parish, Louisiana about 1862.

    2.John Upshaw is also listed as Forrester Upshaw's son in the Genealogies of
    Virginia Families  from the William and Mary College Quarterly Magazine, Volume
    V, (page 270), published by the Baltimore Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. in
    1982. Forrester Upshaw was living in Elbert County, Georgia in 1796. John
    Upshaw was born in Elbert County in 1799.
