MARR: 1830 Loose Marriage Bonds, Jackson, Madison Co. Tennessee. issued 28 Aug 1830. Date of marriage from Sanford Bible Records obtained from Mary Nell Bullard of Snyder, Texas. DEATH: Approximated from 1840 Census of Yalobusha Co. Mississippi and 1850 Census of McNairy Co. Tennessee. Joshua Weaver Jr went to TN from NC with his Father about 1820. They settled near Jackson, Madison Co. Joshua Jr. married Nancy Sanford on 2 Sep. 1830. They moved to Yalobusha Co. Miss. some time in the 1830's. The Family appears in the 1840 Census of Yalobusha Co. In 1838, Joshua Jr. bought lot #137 in Section #8 in Grenada, Miss.(Recorded 15 Sep 1838 in Deed Book "D" page 271, Coffeville, Yalobusha Co., Miss). In 1841, his Father willed him 95 acres of land.(Joshua Weaver Sr's Will probated in Mar. 1841 - Will Book 3 Pg.339, Jackson, Madison Co. Tn) The land was sold to a Brother-in-law, Milton Johnson, in Mar of 1841.(Recorded in Deed Book #477, Jackson, Madison Co.Tn.) Joshua Jr. evidently died in Miss. His wife , Nancy Sanford, with four children are listed in the 1850 Census of McNairy Co., Tn, living with her Brother Balaam O. Sanford. Nancy Sanford Weaver is listed in the 1850 Census of McNairy Co., Tn living with her brother Balaam O. Sanford.She does not appear in the Census of 1860. Her brother, Balaam, went to Texas about 1855(He married Eliza A. Paine in Waco, Tx. on 31 May 1856). This information is the basis for approximating her death year as about 1855.

DEATH: Calculated from statement of his son, Joseph Edward Weaver, born in 1878, that he was four years old when his Father died. Jasper Newton Weaver was born in Madison Co., Tn. in 1834. (Birth year established by Confederate Army Records).He enlisted in Company E, Cavalry Battalion, Waul's Texas Legion, on 18 May 1862 and gave his age as 28 yrs at that time.(Recorded in National Archives Wash. D.C.) He moved with his family to Yalobusha Co. Miss. some time in the 1830's. The family appears in the 1840 Census of Yalobusha Co. In 1850 he was in McNairy Co.,Tn. He is listed in the 1850 Census of McNairy Co., with his Mother and two brothers and one sister, living with an Uncle, Balaam O. Sanford. The 1880 Census of Harris Co., TX lists his age as 46 years. J.N. Weaver went to Texas about 1855. He married Sarah Elizabeth Blagraves about 1860, had one child, and then enlisted in the Confederate Army on 18 May 1862. He served through out the war - The first part in and around Vicksburg, Miss. While at Vicksburg,in 1863, he wrote letters to his family in Texas.(Two of the letters are in the possession of Woodrow W. Weaver, 8542 Dunwoodie Rd., Santee, Ca.) He gave his address at that time as Company E., Lieut. Col.Willis' Cavalry Battalion, Waul's Legion at Vicksburg, Miss. There is no record of his service or location after the fall of Vicksburg in 1863. After the War was over, Jasper Newton went to Jackson, Madison Co. Tn. , and sold his share as heir to his Mother's inheritance of her Father's property to an Uncle, Edward S. Sanford, on 9 Dec 1865 for $230.00.(Transaction recorded on 2 Jan 1866 in Jackson, Madison Co.Tn.- Deed Book no 23 pg 530). In that transaction, he stated that he was the only surviving heir to his Mother's inheritance. Jasper Newton then returned to Texas, residing in Harris, Wharton, and Austin Counties until his death in 1882. (Year of death is calculated from statement of his son, Joseph Edward Weaver, born in 1878, that he was four years old when his father passed away).
