    Called Mike by the family, is named Michele and as father of Maria Berinotti on the official copy of her birth certificate obtained from Lagnasco, Italy on Oct. 8, 1992. May have lived at Via della Neve #2 in Lagnasco, since this is shown as the birthplace of Maria.

    I obtained a copy of the marriage certificate from the Lagnasco Parish Priest,
    D. Gianni Garino on April 22, 1994. It shows Michele to be 34 years old on the
    marriage date of April 21, 1868.

    Originally submitted as Clara Rose (Surname). Birth certificate of Maria Bertinotti shows Rossi Clara as her mother - but is Clara a surname or Rossi a surname, or is neither one a surname and these are both given names? However, the family listed her as Clara Rose and Maria Bertinotti's first daughter was named Clara, so I believe the given name is Clara.

    Bertinotti obtained from the Parish Priest of Lagnasco, D. Gianni Garino, April
    22, 1994. Marriage date from the original handwritten record is given as April
    21, 1868 -- Clara Rossi's stated age on the record is 26.

                       Christening record obtained from Lagnasco Parish Priest, D. Gianni Garino, on
    April 22, 1994. Cattarina was previously an unknown sister of Maria's. From
    the appearance of this record and that of Maria, it appears that they do have
    the same parents.

    Name spelled both CATARINA and CATTARINA on the christening record. I am using
    CATTARINA since that is the spelling of Michele's mother's name on his marriage
    record.

    NOTES:
    1. Official copy of birth certificate obtained from Lagnasco, Italy on Oct. 8,
    1992.  Verifies birth date as July 24, 1872, 9:00pm.  Parents are listed as
    Michele and Rossi Clara;  birthplace is listed as Via della Neve, #2, Lagnasco,
    2. Her temple work was done under her anglicised name, Mary Burton.  Also, her
    birthday was taken from her death certificate and given as July 24, l870.
    3. The 1900 Census records indicate that Maria and Battista had only three
    children and all were living at that time, but the two infant deaths are
    recorded on Armeda's record, and the living children of Battista and Mary
    recall their parents mentioning the two babies, thus they have been listed with
    the family.
    4. Armeda also recalled that her mother had sisters who left Italy
    for South America - probably Argentina or Brazil.
    5. The 1920 Census lists Maria's birthplace as Peermont, Italy.
