Christian Frederik ISHOY

                       Surname at birth was ISHOY even though his father was named ISHOJ.  He was
    baptized in Odense, Denmark. C.F.Ishoy reports that Ishoj's held many
    occupations -- teacher, ship captain, pastor -- from Marstal on the island of
    Aero (south of Fuen).  Most of the Ishoj's there were fishermen or skippers or
    captains, trading with India and China.  The ships going to China were large
    and traveled around the Horn, and the men were pretty well to do.  That is
    where Peter Ishoj came from.

    Hans Ishoj was a paper manufacturer and married to Amalie with a son,
    Christian, a son Julius (who drowned), and a sister Olga, an Xray technician.
    Hans Ishoj, a symphony leader.
    Viggo Ishoj a club host and wine merchant.  He died in Chicago right after WWII
    at 80 years of age with 3 sons in America.
    Karl Ishoj a Carlsberg beer distributor in Denmark.
    Captain Ishoj sailed passenger steamer between Copenhagen and Aarhus (sp?),
    Denmark.
