    I, Julius E. Drone, spent the summer that I turned 9 years old with Aunt Edna &
    Uncle Howard.That was in 1932 probably the bottom of the depression & it was a
    help to Dad & Mother with one less at the table to feed. I picked potato bugs
    for a penny a doz. for  uncle Howard, and to his supprise it was nearly a
    Dollar the first day. Aunt Edna and I burned them in the wheelbarrow which had
    a steel box on it. I also tromped hay for a Mr. Conklin for $0.25 per load,and
    he sure feed his help well. I also picked berries that summer which Auntie
    canned, all dad was required to do was pay for the sugar; that Auntie used.All
    in all that summer I made enough money to buy a suit of clothes for myself at
    summers end. Mother insisted that I get pants in the "nickers" style; I wanted
    the long leg style, I lost and didn't ware them much for they looked more like a
    pair of old ladies bloomers, I thought.
