Johann Henrich MERLE
SOURCES: 1. Records of Riebelsdorf and Hattendorf by correspondence OCCUPATION: Wachtmeister (watchman or guard) RESEARCH NOTES: Husband's birth date given as 14 Feb 1700 in the Merle F/O records. We have chosen to use the records of the church, 16 Dec 1704. Husband was a patrolman in the Blue Dragoon Regiment in 1742 in Riebelsdorf. He married before 1728 and died after 1742 but before 1764. Probably died in action during the Seven Year War 1753-1763. Another record said his wife died 6 Dec 1765 at Riebelsdorf (from Merle F/O). Church record had a marriage date of 14 Jan 1737. However, the Merle F/) of Hesse showed this couple married before 1728. Most likely, the date is 14 Jan 1
