Married Hild, daughter of Eirik, King of Vestfold, whose land (when he died) was taken over by King Halvdan Vitben and Fret Eystein. King Eystein/Oystein was knocked into the sea by the sailyard of a passing boat. His corpse was brought to Borre, on the western shore of the Oslofjord, where a mound was erected over him.

He married Hlif, a King's daughter in Vestfold. NOTES: This Halfdan was nicknamed "Inn mildi ok inn matarilli" for his generosity with money, but stinginess at table. He is said to be buried in a burial mound at Borre, on the western shore of the Oslofjord.
