(The Planter, Feb. 14, 1852) A Rockport, IN publication. The following was located on the Spencer, IN genweb site. FOR SALE Forty acres of land situated 3 miles N.E. from Rockport, and 1 ΒΌ miles from the River; there are twelve acres clear and under fence, a good peach orchard, a young apple orchard, dwelling house, stable and other improvements. The above described land will be sold cheap for cash. For further particulars, call on the undersigned or ISAAC MEARS. Wm T. BINGHAM Jan 10, 1852 Abigail's name appears on the 1880 Census on the 17th of June, although she is supposed to have died 11 Jun 1880. Need to check mortality schedules for 1880 Census to clarify the issue.
Fought in Civil War, filed for pension in 1890 as an "invalid" (application number 776,660, certificate number 516,710), wife filed for widow's pension Sept 26 1900 (application number 714,095, certificate number 519,081). 1900 Census shows her as a widow in June 1900.
