                   Name: Daniel came from Scotland and was one of the original 28 proprietors of Haddam, Connecticut.  "Some accocunt of Cone Family in America," by William Whitney Cone:  Information suggests that Daniel Mackhoe arrived in Massachusetts in 1652 on the ship, "John and Sarah."  His name is found on the ship's registry.  It is believe that he was a Scottish Army Officer captured cy Cromwell's Troops in the battle of Dunbar and changed his name to Daniel cCone on his arrival in America. (From a letter from John J. Cone to Rose Martin Landnesson, dated 6/16/1975.
