MARTIN.

Charles was engaged to be married to Mary Corcoran's sister, Isabelle.  However, Mary took a likeing to the tall (6'4"), good looking Charles and managed to elope with him and marry him before her sister or anyone else could discover her intentions.

Reverand Daniel J. Fante officiated at the marriage.  Witnesses were Thomas Allen and Annette Flower.

Charles Martin worked for United Continental Corporation in New York.  He assisted the Gellert family and Hans Petchek, who were Czechoslovakian Jews, transfer their money out of Europe in the 1930's just before Hitler advanced his armies into their country.  One of the installments was a cashiers check made payable to Charles A. Martin in the amount of $125,000,000.00.

ANNA WAS THE SECOND WIFE OF CHARLES  MARTIN.  SHE HAD BEEN HIS SECRETARY MANY
YEARS PREVIOUS.  AFTER THE DEATH OF MARY (CORCORAN) MARTIN CHARLES WAS
SUFFERING A SEVERE CASE OF DEPRESSION.  CHARLES' OLD BOSS AT CONTINENTAL
CORPORATION IN NEW YORK PLAYED "CUPID" AND BROUGHT CHARLES AND ANNA TOGETHER
UNDER THE GUISE OF NEEDING THEM TO COME BACK TO WORK.  CHARLES AND ANNA
TRAVELED EXTENSIVELY DURING THEIR MARRIAGE, CRISS-CROSSING THE COUNTRY FIVE
TIMES BY CAR.  ANNA WAS KILLED IN A CAR CRASH A FEW YEARS AFTER CHARLES' DEATH.
CHARLIE'S SONS, NOTEABLY JOHN MARTIN, WAS VERY UPSET THAT ANNA HAD TAKEN ALL
CHARLIE'S BOOKS AND PERSONAL EFFECTS AND DONATED THEM TO CHARITY.
