Replied to my letter of inquiry about the family of Gottlieb and Carrie Westphalen Fritz. They lived on farms in the same area around the Ridgeley Church. She  played with the children of Gottlieb and Carrie. She remembered cousins of Carrie coming from Burlington to visit, and also remember people named "Scheihing" coming to visit Scribner. She said Carried died in an insane asylum in Colorado after a nervous breakdown from "having so many children." She remember that Gottlieb said "always remember that Joe (Fritz) lives in Eaton, CO, just like Eaton, NE."

The family moved to Colorado from Scribner, and then the children scattered, some to California, some elsewhere. The track of this line of Roemer descendants is lost until, someday, one of them goes searching for roots and finds us.


She died in an asylum in Pueblo after a nervous breakdown.
