Husband; George Lyon 1640-1690:
Of the birth and ancestry of George, or the date of his arrival in this country, nothing is possitively known. The history of the Lyons of England indicates that he might have been of Essex origin, and this supposition is supported in some degree by the fact that his friend, William Blake, who subsequently married George's widow, was from Little Baddow, Essex, England, near the home of the Essex Lyons.
It is possible that the earlier records refer to a different George, quite possibly father of this one, and perhaps also father of the Thomas Lyon who was killed in King Phillips's War.
George and Hannah were admitted to the Dorchester Church in 1668 and joined the Milton Church in 1681. They lived on the Milton side of the Neponsett River. In 1666 he bought the 19th lot of 32 acres, "beyond Neponsett Hill on the Neponsett river", and in the deed styled "husbandman". He added to his property by buying in 1674 with his brother-in-law, James Tucker, the 18th lot, 33 and 3/4 acres east of his lot between the highway on the south and the Neponsett River on the north. He owned also 10 lots in the new grant.
in 1672 "granted liberty to take 600 rails out of the land south of the Neponsett River", also to get 4 loads of cloboard out of the common swamp at 700 by the load. " He is said to have "had a note to give to James Bird or Thomas Tolman," constables of the year 1677, for 25 shillings, 8 pence, for James Tucker, which was their rate when they were in Dorchester.
He is recorded as having been paid at Milton, 23 August 1676, for services at Ponkapoag during King Phillip's War, and his sons had subsequently some military experience against the Indians.
From Probate Records and inventory of the estate of George Lyon, late of Milton, by Ralph Houghton and Thomas Trott, Jr.,17 March 1690-1, was presented by his son George, Jr., administrator. House, barn, and 57 acres, 160 pounds; 2 acres of Salt Marsh, 17 pounds; a long list of stock, grain, tools, and furniture is added and the total amount was 243 pounds, 18 shillings.
Town records state that George Lyon was selectman 1645-1647,1661,1672; freeman 1666; Representative to the General Court 1680, 1683 and 1690.

Wife; His widow married 12 November 1693, William Blake. She was baptized 20 April 1642 at Dorchester, and died 4 August 1729. (Blake's Annals). The expenses of her funeral are noted in the Bible of her son Thomas. Her will states that,"for the parental love and affection I bear my beloved son, Thomas Lyon, she conveys to hom, "all my right and interest in the 10th lot on the 12 divisions in Dorchester and other parcels of land which was the estate of my father, Thomas Tolman, of Dorchester.

Child # 3; Their son, Henry , was b.6 Jun 1670 Milton, d. 1696. He was in Captain Withington's company in the Canad1an Expedition and it is likely that he, like many others, including some of Peter Lyon's sons, died from the effects of their sufferings. His nephew Thomas, was granted land in Dorchester, Canada (Ashburnham) "in right of his uncle Henry" (History Ashburnham). 7 January 1696-7 Thomas Lyon, of Dorchester, was appointed administrator of the estate of his brother, Henry Lyon, of Dorchester, house carpenter, deceased.
