Subject: Union County cemetery look up
I have found some of the requested folks. They are buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Lincoln Township. This cemetery is in the yard of the Jerusalem Methodist Church. It is well kept. The church is still in operation.
Row 3, West Section: Stones 9 & 10
Parker: Estella, 1860 - 1939
Parker, Charles M. 1856 - 1941
In another Cemetery, not too far away, but in Spaulding Township there are others named Parker, not the names you gave, but perhaps you might benefit from having them. In Prairie Lawn Cemetery:
Lot 36, Row 2:
Parker: Effie May, 1872 - 1956
Parker: Alva W., 1861 - 1926 [Masonic]
Parker: Harlan, 1899 - 1918 Buried in France [AL]
First Addition, Row 9, Prairie Lawn Cemetery
Parker, Georgia E., [Showers], May 21, 1898 -July 22, 1961. [same stone as below] Assume she is his wife.
Parker: Arthur W., Oct. 26, 1882 - Mar. 20, 1968 IOOF
Other Parker names I found in Graceland Cemetery in Creston are: Amos, Amos LeRoy, Augusta, Charles DeHaven, Ellen, Mrs. Mary, Mary K., Paul L. and Richard. If you want dates for any of these, just ask.
I can't do it, but someone could go to the courthouse and get the month and day for Charles and Estella, by looking at their death records, then go to the library and see if the obits are on microfilm of old newspapers there. The others have the month and day. I can recommend a lady to do it, she is our Genealogical Society query coodinator. She will charge $6.00 per hour for labor, plus cost of copies and postage. If you would like her name and email address, let me know. Perhaps from some of the obits you can find the names of others, and maiden names of spouses, etc. No, certainly it was not too much trouble, that is why name is out there to do look-ups, I enjoy helping folks. I hope this helps.
original email: I am looking for cemetery records of Charles Parker, b. Feb 1856, and Estella Carpenter Parker, b. May 1860. They were in the census records for Lincoln Township, Union County from 1895 to 1930. They had 6 children: Lillie, Jennie, Arthur W., an unknown child, and twins, Ola and Ona. Arthur W. might be buried near them as he was divorced in the 1920 and 1930 censuses and living with his parents. The other four are girls and I have no idea of their married names. I listed them only in case they are buried nearby and listed on the same page. I have no clue about the identity of the unknown child. In 1900, Estella is listed with having 6 children with 5 living. I hope this isn't too much of an inconvenience. Thank you so much for your help.
