                       This information came from research done by Nona Agnes Gay.  The marriage date
    for H. L. Whiteside and Sarah J. Slaton of 18 September 1868 was recorded in
    "Marriages Books, Calhoun County, Alabama," (976.163 v2m v.1) by Pamela Walker
    in October 1994.  Notice the "J" instead of Isabella. I am not sure which is
    correct.

    Also, on one pedigree Nona Agnes Gay spelled Lafayett and on another she
    spelled it Lafayette.  I am not sure which is correct.

    Thomas Thompson lists White Plains, Benton, Alabama, as the birth place of
    Harvey instead of Chocoloco Valley, Calhoun, Alabama.  I'm not sure which is
    correct.

                       This information came from research done by Nona Agnes Gay.

    There are many questions on this line and should be a challenge for the
    expert researcher.

    On one pedigree from Nona Agnes Gay the spelling is Slaton and on another
    pedigree it is Slayton.  In a third source there is a spelling of Slatin.
    I believe the Slayton is the least likely to be correct.

    There is some reason to believe that Sarah Isabella Slaton/Slatin's parents
    were not Zachariah Slaton/Slatin and Mary Ann Scoggins.  (See attached letter
    and Census records.)  From the ages on the Census records, Zachariah
    Slaton/Slatin and Mary Ann Scoggins may be grandparents instead of parents.
    Sarah Slatin (6 yrs.) is listed with Ellis Walls and Mary A in the 1850 Heard
    Co., Georgia, Census and a Sarah (15 years) is listed with Ellis Walls and Mary
    A. again in 1860.  She seems to have made the switch from Slatin to Walls
    within those 10 years.

    Questions to ask are, "Was Mary A. married to a Slatin/Slaton who died when
    Sarah was very small?  Was Ellis Walls Mary A.'s second husband?  Was Sarah an
    illegitimate child?"

    On one chart Nona recorded Sarah Annie Durrah Whiteside as the full name.
    On another record Sarah Anna Durrah Whiteside was the name.  I am not sure
    which is correct.

    Also, on one family group record, prepared by Nona Agnes Gay, it stated
    Sarah was born near Hearts Ferry, Calhoun County, Alabama.

    Sarah Annie died at Flow Memorial Hospital and was buried at the Rose Lawn
    Cemetery, both in Denton, Texas.

    In the IGI there is a Sarah Anna Durrah Whiteside listed with Harvey Lafayett
    Whiteside as the father and Sarah Isabella Slaton as the mother.  I believe
    this to be my Sarah Whiteside because her parent's names match.  The IGI lists
    the baptismal date as 28 Jan 1965 and the endowment date as 29 Jan 1965 in
    SLAKE.  Pre-1970 is given as the sealing date to parents.

He married Sarah Isabella Slaton 18 Oct 1868 . Sarah Isabella Slaton was born at Georgia 20 Sep 1844 daughter of Zachery Slaton and Mary Ann Scoggins .
