Jacob GIBSON
need to add notes
Ancestral File records show that a baptism for Hannah Francis Gibson was perpformed by proxy in 1967. It also shows that she received her endowment in the Endowment House in Salt Lake City in 1869. We could find no source records of the baptism of Hannah as a youth, but presume that such took place as she was a member of an active family living in Salt Lake City. Accordingly, we have to accept the records as shown.
Ancestral File shows a baptism date of 1884 and an endowment date of 1865. There is no record shown in the IGI for either baptism or endowment under the name of Mary Leota Gibson. However, there is a May Leola Gibson, same parents, for whom temple work has been done by proxy. Given that the Gibson family lived in Salt Lake City and was active in the Church, there seems to be no reason to not believe that she was baptized as a youth and then endowed in 1865 as shown in the Ancestsral File. The baptism in 1884 may either be a typograpahical error or a rebaptism for some reason. In any event, we have left the original baptism date in the records, as shown in the Ancestral File.
