Compiled by Edwin T. & Atha Peckenpaugh Brace; 2919 Meadow Lane; El Campo, Texas 77437. Published by Gateway Press, Inc; Baltimore, Maryland, 1984. 9. Remarks: After the death of both parents, the children went to live with various relatives. As a result, not very much is known about some of the children. The surname was originally Beckenbach; emigrant ancestors were from Germany and emigrated to the US in 1751. Over a period of time the name became Peckinpaugh, with many various spellings, including Peckinpaugh, Peckenpaugh, Packinpaugh, Peckenpaw, Peckenpah, Peckingpaugh, etc. There is some confusion as to whether children #5 and #6 may be the same individual. The pension rec lists Eliza E, born 6 Jan 1859, but does not list Clara. The 1860 census shows Clara, born about Nov 1859, but does not show Eliza E. They may be one and the same person, or they may be two separate individuals. Temple ordinances have been done for two individuals. _______________________________________________________________________________ 2. Marr Rec extract: Married 12 Feb 1852 Aden H. So evidently this couple had another child, in addition to those shown. However, nothing more is known concerning this child. There are several discrepancies on the birth years of several of the children in this family. Birth years are taken from the 1900 census since this is the earliest available record and thus the most likely to be correct. This surname (Peckinpaugh) was originally Beckenbach; emigrant ancestors were from Germany and emigrated to the US in 1751. Over a period of time the name became Peckinpaugh, with many various spellings, including Peckinpaugh, Peckenpaugh, Packinpaugh, Peckenpaw, Peckenpah, Peckingpaugh, etc. _______________________________________________________________________________ 3. 2nd Marr extract: I, the county judge of Merrick Co, Nebraska, do hereby certify that I find recorded the following marriage: Groom P.N.
