RESEARCH NOTES: 1. On the tombstone of her son, Levi Hammon, located in Wilford, Freemont County, Idaho Cemetery it says that Levi's mother was Mattlena (Magdalena) Richardson. The reason for this discrepancy may be that Richardson was her maiden name and Richter her married name, or the other way around. Magdalena was a widow with one daughter at the time she married Daniel. Levi says his father was born in Maryland and his mother born in Pennsylvania. Polly says her father was born in Kentucky her mother born in Tennessee. 3. PARENTS-SPOUSE-MARRIAGE PLACE: Family History of Levi Hammon and Polly Chapman Bybee, states that Levi was living and working in Indiana when he met and married Polly Bybee. 4. Mary is listed with her husband Nathan Andreas (but in Census he is listed as Mason Andrews) Mary is age 28 and born in Ohio her husband Nathan is 32, a dairyman born in Pennsylvania with children: Mahala age 7, Matilda age 6, Almeda age 3, and Josephine age 1. George is age 40 a farmer born in Ohio with $4000 real estate and $860 personal estate. 1900 INDIANA CENSUS of Madison Township in St. Joseph County. George Hamman is age 73, born June of 1826 in Ohio. He says his parents were both born in Maryland. He says he can read and write and speaks English. He state that he has been married to his wife for 42 years. His wife Mary is age 66 and born November of 1833. Mary states on census that she is the mother to no children. No children have ever been listed on any of the previous census reports. George and Mary are living next to several Laughman families.
