Joseph ELDER

                   NAME:
    David R. (or Ephraim) ELDER
WILL:
The Lee Elder record lists David Elder as having died 4 Aug 1853.  His will is dated 27 May 1853, reported in the County Ordinary's office 12 October 1853, and recorded 9 Nov 1852.  In the will he
    1-  Specifies that his debts be paid.
    2 - Gives to John P. Elder and Doctor W. Elder the tract of land (200 acres) where Sally Elder, surviving widow of son Joseph M. Elder, and children  live.  Land to be kept in trust for the use and benefit of the children.
    3 - Gives to som John P. Elder a negro woman in trust for the use and benefit of son Wiche M. J. Elder (approx 49 years old) and his children.
    4 - Gives to daughter Sarah Holloway and her heirs half of the sale of his negro woman and her children and all his house hold and kitchen furniture except a bed of furniture and the land he lives on (350 acres). .
    5 - Gives to John P. Elder and Doctor W. Elder the other half of the sale of his negro woman and her children, his personal estate, and one bed of furniture of the use and benefit of the children of his deceased daughter Irmin Sims.
    6 - He specifies that all other items of his personal estate be sold and be equally divided among all his children except Wiche M. J. Elder.
    He appoints Doctor W. Elder and James P. Holloway the executors of his will.
    The will is witnessed by David B. Elder and Almira C. Elder.  Note:  Not sure who these witnesses are.
NOTES:
    1. Family records say he was born 7 Jan 1760.
    2. Came to Georgia in 1807.
    3. Lee Elder Family history and family record of Edmond Elder says he died 4 Aug 1853.
