     Obituary - Evans - John H. Evans, of the Fifteenth Ward, in this city, departed this life on Saturday morning, October 30, instance, at his residence, after a lingering illness of about eight months.
	He was born in October, 1818, in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales; embraced the Gospel in November, 1846, and emigrated to Utah in June, 1869; entered the employ of the Utah Central Pacific Railroad Company at Ogden, and assisted in constructing the road from Ogden to Salt Lake; he was in the employ of that company until the time when he was taken ill.
	He died in full faith of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and in the hope of a glorious resurrection . He leaves a wife, five children, thirty-one grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn his departure. He was greatly beloved and respected by all who knew him.
		The funeral service will take place at the Fifteenth Ward Assembly room, on Tuesday, November 2nd, at 1:30 o'clock p.m.  Friends of the family are invited.

OBITUARY:                                 DEATH OF MRS. EVANS
      Ann H. Evans, widow of John H. Evans, of the Fifteenth Ward, this city, died at 4:00 this morning of old age. The deceased was born in Wales November 14, 1829, joined the Church 42 years ago, and came to this country in 1870. She leaves a son and three dauaghters, all of whom are grown and have families of their own. Funeral will be held tomorrow. The time and place will be announced in The Herald.      Mrs. Ann H. Evans, relict of the late John H. Evans, and mother of Thomas Evans, the well-known foreman of the Utah and Nevada shops, died early yesterday morning. The funeral will take place from the Fifteenth Ward meeting house at 4:30 p.m. today. Friends are invited to attend.  The  Herald, Sunday, 15 Aug 1897 p.8.

       Funeral services for Thomas H. Evans, former resident of Salt Lake who died in Los Angeles, will be held in the Fifteenth ward chapel First South and Eighth West streets, Sunday at 12  o'clock. Friends are invited to attend.
       Mr. Evans was born in Llan Y. Beah, Carmarthenshire, South Wales, Dec. 29, 1855. He came to Utah in 1870, with his mother and two sisters, his father John H. Evans and one daughter, having crossed the plains in 1869.. He is survived by his widow, Jennie Davis Evans, one son and five daughters; Mrs. Will Rall, Margaret, Pearl, Elva and Glen Evans of Los Angeles. Mrs. W. H. McCune of Salt Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Charles, of Logan, Mrs. H. E. Llewewllyn, and Mrs. H. E. Giles of Salt Lake.
       Mr. Evans was genial and possessed talents as an entertainer, having appeared many times as a humorist in ward entertainments. He was an active worker in the choir, Sunday School, M.I.A., as a ward teacher and any duty he was called upon to perform. He entered the employ of the Utah Central Railroad in the early seventies as an errand boy afterwards as an apprentice in the machine shops and later for rmany years as foreman of the O.S.L.shops.                                   Llewellyn Funeral to be Held on Sunday at the Sixteenth Ward Hall.
       Funeral services for Margaret Thomas Llewellyn, 69, widow of Hopkin E. Llewellyn, who died at a local hospital Thursday evening, will be held in the Sixteenth Ward Chapel on Sunday, March 25, at 2 p.m., Bishop Joseph Lake officiating. Interment will be in the City Cemetery under the direction of the Kingdon and Lees funeral directors.
       The body may be viewed at the family residence 256 North Seventh West from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Llewellyn was born in Wales Oct. 20, 1858. She came to the United States when 10 years old. She has been a resident of the Sixteenth ward for the last 25 years.        Mrs. Catherine Evans Giles, 74, wife of Professor Henry E. Giles, pioneer musician and  former assistant Tabernacle organist, died at the family home, 141 Third Avenue, Wednesday at 5 p.m. of causes incident to age.
       Mrs. Giles was the mother of John D. Giles, field represenative for the Presiding Bishop's office and of Prof. Thomas Giles, head of the music department at the University of Utah. In addition she is survived by the following sons and daughters, and her husband: Henry E. Giles, Jr., Los Angeles; Clarnece L. Giles, of Salt Lake; Mrs. Catherine G. Engberg, Mrs. Ida G. Sharp, Mrs. Jenalyn G. Cline and Mrs. Margaret Sharman, all of Salt Lake.
There are 28 grandchildren, and [   ] great grandchildren. The great grandchildren represent the sixth generations of members in the Church from this family.

       Her marriage to Mr. Giles was June 28, 1879, in the Endowment house, with Elder Joseph F. Smith, later president of the Church, performing the ceremony. In the Church and music circles, she was soloist of the Utah Stake choir at Provo, of which her husband was conductor, and also soloist for the Brigham Young University Choir. For more than [  ] years she has been active in the Eighteenth Ward Relief Society, continuing a participation in Provo.
       Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Eighteenth Ward by Bishop Thomas A Clawson.  Deseret News, April 25, 1935, p.3.

The grave in the City cemetery will be dedicated by Bishop June B. Sharp of the Thirty-first Ward.  Nephews of Mrs. Giles will act as pallbearers.
