                       BIRTH: Journal of Thomas Davis Giles.
    MARRIAGE: Certificate of Marriage from G.R.O. Registration Office, London, England, copy in possession of Helen Sharp Madsen.  Both David Alma and Harriet marked the marriage certificate with an X, signifying they could  not write their names.
    DEATH: Not located. Living in 1894/95 - listed in Salt Lake City Directory for those years. In Polks 1898 Salt Lake City directory Harriet is listed as widow of David A.

    It is not known at this time who was Emily's husband. If it was a son of David and Harriet it would seem logical she would be using the Giles surname.  Further research is needed.

    Died: At Salt Lake City: Mrs. Harriet Giles. The remains will be brought to Ogden for Interment.  Age, 70 years. Mother of Mrs. Charles O. Harnett. The funeral will be held at the residence of Mrs. Charles O. Harnett, 114 Twenty-seventh Street , at 3:00 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.

           "The funeral services over the remains of Mrs. Harriet Giles who died Aug. 15, 1898 were held at the family residence --corner of 27st and Wall Avenue at 4 o'clock p.m. On Wednesday Aug. 17, Bishop Robert McQuarrie presided and the Second Ward Choir furnished music. After the first hymn "I Know that My Redeemer Lives,' the bishop invoked the blessing of divine Providence on the family that they might receive strength and fortitude to bear up under their bereaavement.
           "The choir next sang, "O Lord, Responsive to Their Call" after which Elder Joseph Hall delivered a discourse, Resurrection of the Dead, breathing sympathy, solace, hope and comfort. The choir sang, "O My Father" and after the benediction by the Bishop, the remains were laid to rest in the Ogden City Cemetery."
