EXPLANATION; The will of this husband names his wife Mary and his father-in-law Hugh Jones. He    named a sister, an Aunt, a nephew and a cousin but no children were named. Hugh Jones in his will   probated 8 years later in 1680/1 names his daughter Mary, but no children. The estimated birth year of   Mary is taken from her fathers family list.

   In the name of God Amen The 226th day of January in the yeare of our Lord 1672     I Edward Jones of Hope Owen in the county of Flint & Diocese of St. Asaphe beinge sicke and weeke in body, but of sound and prfecte memory (Praise be God) Doe make and ordayne my last will and testatment in maner and forme following vist, first I comend my soule into the hands of my Creator And stedfastly hopeinge to obtayne everlasting life for ye alone meritts and Mediation of my Savior and Redeemer ye Lord Jesus Christ And my body to be Interred in a Christian and Decent maner.
Item I devise give leave and bequeath unto my wel beloved Ant Margarett vz John thehouse wherein shee and her husband nowe dwelleth and also ye croft thereunto adjoining situate in Hope Owen afforesd in ye sd County of Flint for and durringe ye Tearm of her naturall life
Item devise leave and bequeath unto my wel beloved wife Mary Jones All ye rest of my Messuage Lands in Hope Owen afforesd in ye sd County of Flint for and dudreing ye tearm of her naturall life And after her decease to my heyres of ye body of my sd. Wife Mary Jones if any happen to be And in default of such issue to my wel beloved Cozen Margaret Parry and her heyres for ___
Item I devise leave and bequeath unto my wel beloved father in lawe Hugh Jones All my Messuages, Lands and tenements wth all & evy their appurtenancs situate in Heartsheath in ye sayd County of Flint To pay Discharge my debts & Legacyse And after ye payment of my debtsd and Legacys I leave and bequeath to my sister Katherine Jones five pounds ____ out of ye pftts of my sd Messuages Lands and tenements in Heartsheath for in and duringe ye tearm of her naturall life
Item I leave and bequeath to my sister in law Hanah Jones the sume of one hundred pounds after my Debts and legacys be payd out of ye pfitts of sd mesuages and Lands in Heartsheath
