         There is another William Monroes Hill in Marshall County.  He was the
            son of a William G. Hill and Mary Ann Mothershed.  This info. comes
            from Mrs. John W. Ervin.
MARRIAGES:
         William married Mary Elizabeth Ruby on 25 Dec. 1855 in Marshall
              County, Mississippi.  Elizabeth died after giving birth to
              their son George Henry Hill who was born 13 Nov. 1871.
         William 2nd marriage was to Mary A. Gary on 7 sep 1873 in Marshall
              County, Mississippi. They had two daughters, Gertrude & Glendora
MILITARY:
         William enlisted on 12 May 1862 at Holly Springs as a Confederate
            soldier in the Civil War.
            He was a private in New Company I, Ninth Mississippi Infantry CSA.
            He was at the battle of Shiloh and at Chickamauga.
RESIDENCES:
         Came to Mississippi with his father in abt. 1840.
         Lived in Marshall County, Mississippi for the rest of his life.
