It took this researcher repeated communication to Salt Lake and repeated trips to Tennessee for photo copies to get Nancy and Elisha sealed to the right person, William Hill. The following information came from Ester Brown from correspondence with Charlie Hammer a decendent of Elisha's. "Nancy was the mother of Elisha W. Hendrix, born to her out of wedlock. William married Nancy when Elisha was near 1 years old. Elisha was born 20 Oct. 1810. William Hill & Nancy Hendrix were married 8 July 1811 in Williamson County, Tennessee. William Hill raised, educated and helped Elisha as a son and left property to Elisha at his death.
