TAX LISTS-OCCUPATION:  1783 Tax List of the Town of Hanover and all of           Heidelberg Township lists Francis Heim as an inn-keeper, with 11              acres, 1 lot, 3 horses, 1 cow, 5 sheep, 1 oil mill, and 7 persons.
EXECUTOR OF JOHN EPLEY'S WILL:  Francis Heim and Conrad Sherman were             appointed by John Epley (b. 1710) to be his executers of his last will        and testament.
HISTORY:  In a history of biographical sketch's of York County, Pa.; it          states that Williams Daniel Himes born May 29th, 1812 was of the              oldest Pennsylvania-German stock.  His great grandfather, William             Heim, came from the Palatinate, by way of Rotterdam, in the ship              "Thistle of Glasgow" from that port, in 1730.  His grandfather,               Francis Himes (Heim), born in Hanover, Pa., in 1737, resided there,           where he kept an inn and carried on a small farm and oil-mill, and            died 1811, possessed of a considerable estate, including a "boy               Billy, of color", left at disposal of his wife.  His son George, the          sixth of eight children, born Dec. 16, 1775, in Hanover, married,             1809 to Helen Catherine Barnitz.
LAND:  Francis buys land in 1785 to the east of John Epley.
RELATIVES:  In the IGI it shows a George Heims christened 21 May 1775 in the
     St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Hanover, York, PA to a Salomon Heims and
     wife Frohne.
