MIGRATION PATTERN:
            George was born about 1814 in Lincoln County, North Carolina.  His parents and family are living in Greene                    County, Tennessee in 1819 and 1823 where two of George's oldest siblings are married.  His family is living in Warren County, Tennessee on the 1830 Census.  George is also found in 1833, 1836, and 1837 as a witness on land records in Warren and Cannon Counties.  George buys land in Coffee County, Tennessee and has it surveyed on Aug. 29, 1838 by Daniel Spangler and Mark Adcock.  On the Census records it shows his first two children being born in Tennessee in 1836 and 1840, but he is not found on any Census record in 1840.  He had probably moved to Arkansas before the census was taken.  George's 3rd and 4th child were born about 1842 and 1844 in Arkansas.  Then on the 1850 Census  George is living in Hickory County, Missouri.  It states that his 5th child was born in Missouri in 1847.  In 1860 George is
found on the Census  living in Burnet County, Texas.  On the 1870 Census George is now living in Lampasas County, Texas.  Then on the 1880 Census he is  found with his 2nd wife Susan living in Nolan County, Texas with many of his married children living nearby.

WITNESS FOR HENRY &  MARY BURKETTS PENSION CASE:
            Mr. George Epley, being sworn, testifies as follows: I was present at the marriage of Henry Burket, and Mary Epley; but cound not state positively the precise time but to the best of knowledge and recollection it was in the summer of 1818.  I know that they lived together as man and wife from about the above metioned time until I left the country and moved West in the year 1836.  They had had seven children up to the time I left Tennessee.  I also know that she has never married since the death of her husband Henry Burkett.  I was born the 27th day of August 1813.
