These records show John Peter, Frederick, Elizabeth, and Anna Barbara being baptized as children of Jacob and Elizabeth Eppele. Jacob and Elizabeth also have earlier children, Johannes and Christina baptized at St. Jacob's Church, plus 2 children, Susanna and Catharina, from his 1st wife Christina. The sponsors at Peter's baptism were Peter and Barbara Krebs. Also in Ziegler's Church later on in the record it shows Peter and Margaret Eppele as the parents of John, Samuel, Adam, Francis, and Peter. The witnesses for Peter and Margaret Eppele's children are John Eppele and wife Juliana, and Frederick Eppele and wife Christina whom I believe to be the brothers of Peter. These records state that Peter Epley died and his wife died soon after, they were of Cumberland Township, Adam Co.,PA 5 of Peter & Margaret's children were listed as minors with the oldest brothers assigned as their guardians. DEATH DATE & PLACE: source was the Compiler Newspaper of Adams County, PA dated Sept 15, 1834 states that Peter Epley of Cumberland Twp. died on September 15, 1834. LAND: In the Orphan Court Records of Adams County it states that Peter owned 3 parcels of land. #1. Land in Cumberland Twp with 150 acres, a house, ect. adjoing land of En.L. Shriver and John Stocknluger (?). #2. 40 acres of land in Cumberland Twp. #3. 71 acres of land in Freedom Twp., Adams Co., PA.
