Melvin Ross joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1835
(June 1839) at Gibson County, Tennessee, being baptized by John A.McIntosh.
He was ordained a seventy.  He moved to Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, andreceived
his endowment in the Nauvoo Temple on 3 February 1846.  By 1850 he wasliving
at Utah County, Utah, where he worked as a laborer and claimed ahousehold of
seven and a real wealth of $150.  By 1860 he was living at Provo Valley,Utah
County, where he farmed, had a household of eight, a real wealth of $275and a
personal wealth of $2000.  He eventually moved to Montana and wasbaptized a
member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in1867
at Gallatin Valley, Gallatin County, by William Morgan.
