Thomas REMINGTON
Thomas Remington was a freeman at Rowley in 1651. He removed to Suffield, Connecticut, where he had a grant of land in 1674. He was one of the first of 5 selectman elected in Suffield in 1682,85,90,92,94,97, and 98. The history of Suffield by HS Sheldon speaks of Thomas Remington, son of John of Newbury, as having had a grant of land of 60 acres on Feather St Suffield. His son Jonathan had a grant of 30 acres next to his father's lot on Remington Street in Suffield, once called Northapton Road, takes its name from this family. He is said to have been a tailor.
