Cynfyn ap GWERYSTAN
The Royal Lines of Succession, A16A225, p. 23; Eminent Welshmen, Wales 13, p. 41, 96, 196, 238, 328, 436, 437; Hist. of Powys Fadog, Wales 15, v. 1, p. 109; Gen. of Morgan and Glamorgan, Glamorgs. 2, p. 77; The Royal Tribes of Wales, Wales 1, p. 39-42, 202; Pedigrees of Carnarvonshire and Anglesey Families, Wales Angl. 1, p. 291. Note: The claim that Sionet, daughter of Rhiwallon ap Cynvyn, was mother to Rhys "Sais" ap Ednyfed, and that another daughter of Rhiwallon, Gwladys, married Rhys ap Tewdwr, Prince of South Wales, virtually established the assumption that Rhiwallon was the son of Cynvyn ap Gwrystan either by an earlier marriage or by illegitimate birth, inasmuch as his mother could hardly have been Angharad verch Maredydd who didn't marry Cynvyn ap Gwrystan until 1023, when her first husband died. It is also likely that Cynvyn's daughter, Gwenfyn, who married Iestyn ap Gwrgan was born prior to 1023. Therefor Rhiwallon and Gwenfyn are listed arbitrarily for the sake of this compilation as children of an earlier marriage of Cynvyn. The claim as a result of previous temple work that this couple also had a son Caradoc is not indicated by the genealogical souces so far quoted.

Soc. of West Wales, Wales Pub. B, v. 11, p. 37-39; Sealing Records, SL Temple--couples 9 Jan 1918--children to parents. Note: Cadwgan and Iorwerth, sons of Bleddyn ap Cynvyn by other wives were erroneously sealed to this couple, 5 Mar 1948 AZ. On the same date one other child was claimed as belonging to this couple and sealed to them. His name was Gwyn. However, from the above sources it does not appear likely that he is a son of Bleddyn ap Cynvyn. On 14 Nov 1939 the sons Madog and Rhirid were also sealed to this couple, but actually they are the sons of Bleddyn by his third wife. The claim that Denis, wife of Iestyn ap Gwrgant, was a daughter of Bleddyn ap Cynvyn can scarcely be correct, but by age she could have been Bleddyn's sister. (See "The Royal Tribes of Wales", Wales 1, p. 122). She was thus erroneously sealed to this couple 5 Mar 1948 AZ. Even though it states in Wales Angl. 1, p. 392, that Bleddyn had a daughter Efa who married Llewelyn "Aurddochog", it is still questionable; nevertheless, inasmuch as temple work has already been accomplished on this basis, her name has been left standing in this compilation subject to change when more direct evidence can be found to either prove or disprove this assumption. Bleddyn ap Cynvyn, Prince of Wales, was sealed to mother and her first husband, Llewelyn ap Seisyllt, 13 Jan 1948 SL.
