                   Note:  It has been claimed in several sources that Rosamond Clifford
was the mother of William "Longspee"; these claims in all instances are
seemingly premises.  In no case is there any positive evidence to substantiate
the claim.  It has been concluded that it is very unlikely Rosamond Clifford
could have been his mother in view of the lack of this evidence.  (See Eng.

William was a Baron named in the Magna Charta.

Note:  It is claimed (see Eng. 120 that William had a daughter Ela who married
William d'Odingselles.  Possibly this could be the same as Petronella; however,
one of the above sources claims she was not married, so she has been listed
separtely in this compilation.  Only one of the sources (Nrthmp 3) shows Lora as
a daughter.
