NOTE: Guddal is the only farm in Stryn that is mentioned inhistory back to 1520, 16 years before the reformation came to Norway. The country was then Catholic. Guddal is oneof the oldest farms in Nordfjord. Rasmus Rasmusson Guddal got legal papers to it at 31 years of age. He married Malene, Ingebrut's daughter from Nedstryn, a very wealthy family. She was born in 1803 and lived 90 years. She outlived her husbandand lived on the farm after Rasmus with his family sold the farm and moved to Verdal and later to America.
NOTES: Rasmus Rasmusson Guddal was a farmer. His wife was the mother of eleven children. Some died in infancy. Legal papers to the farm in Norway dated 1861. Sold farm and moved to Vardal, Ostlandet. Later to Gjervik and in 1880 came to America and homesteaded in Miner County, Dakota Territory in 1882. Brite Skaare disliked America and refused to have her picture taken here. She had inheritance rights all the way up from Dovre, Gautalir - Norwegian name for farm, Guddal. The family farm Guddal (Gudahl, Gutal, Gutala) lays on the sunny side in the middle of Hjelladen. Belongs to the oldest pioneers in Stryn. DEATH: Rasmus died at 73 years, 8 days of age, cause of death was stomach cancer.

OCCUPATION: Farmer NOTES: Johannes and his family came to America in 1892, bought land fromSlocum. Took the name of Thue from the land that they lived on in Norway.
He married Malene Ingebrichtsdatter Kirkeide 1 Apr 1832 at Innvik, Sogn Og Fjordane, Norway . Malene Ingebrichtsdatter Kirkeide was born at Innvik, Sogn Og Fjordane, Norway 23 Jan 1803 daughter of Ingebricht Rasmussen Kirkeide and Johanne Iversdatter .
