By Rev. Joseph L. Kenney, at about 1:00 AM

NOTES:
    1. Was the only child of his mother's first marriage.
    2. Had a good friend Thomas Wallace Keen, an Actor (who may have been a distant relative), and used to stay or visit them at a boarding house. This is probably where Dad and my brother Keen got their names from.
    3. Ran away from home when about 9 years old and went to Maryland, where he eventually met Nannie, (Floya) his wife.

OCCUPATION: New York City, Auto Mechanic, worked at Seaview Hospital, home for
the elderly, and Tuberculosis Sanitorium.

At one time worked on boats at St. George Lighthouse on Staten Island with
Uncle Jake (Jacob Swaim). Tried to enlist in the Army during World War I, but was rejected because he was too small.

Worked as a riveter at Bethlehem Steel Shipyard at Port Richmond, NY.

Learned to cook at the Leah Cafe near the Bayonne Ferry, also met several boxers there and did sparring with them. I learned about his boxing skills when I was in the Boy Scouts and dared him to put boxing gloves on with me, I finally had to hide under the dining room table to get away from him.

He used to run around Clove Lake Park with his brothers and friends on Sunday's.

Worked for Uncle Linus Sutton (my namesake) repairing trucks during building a road in the Dismal Swamp in North Carolina.

He was drafted in 1942 into the Army Air Corps, and sent to England in 1943. He worked on battle-damaged B-17's, doing mostly sheet metal work.

When he died he had been working part-time at Castleton Hill Moravian Church as a sexton. He had worked full time there until he retired in 1985.

He lived in Westerleigh all his life, either with his parents, or in the same home when his parents died.

His Social Security number was 097-09-7161.
I completed his Temple work on a very windy day, 15 Nov. 2006. It felt good, I can only pray that he accepts it, maybe Alice will teach him.
